Rules of the Innovator’s Challege

  • You must create as much "value" as possible using the mystery object unveiled at the Opening Ceremony.
  • Your idea must actually be implemented in the real world and captured on video prior to the submission date.
  • Teams must be made up of 2 to 6 people; all team members must be current Victorian university students *
  • Entry submissions are in the form of a video - maximum 3 minutes
  • The top 10 videos will be shown during the Closing Ceremony; only these videos will be eligible for prizes
  • The mystery object will be unveiled on Friday 7 August at the Opening Ceremony (5:30pm - 7:00pm, Basement Theatre, The Spot)
  • Teams must be registered, on this website, by Wednesday 12 August, 5pm
  • Videos must be submitted by Friday 14 August, 9am (NO EXCEPTIONS!) Videos should be uploaded to YouTube, and submitted to this YouTube group: http://www.youtube.com/group/eweek09. If you have trouble with this process, or have any questions about submission, please email mark@eweek.org.au immediately.
  • Prizes will be awarded on Friday 14 August at the Closing Ceremony (5:30pm - 7:00pm, Basement Theatre, The Spot)

* Non-students are still allowed and encouraged to attend the opening and closing events, but cannot enter the competition.

 

Entrepreneurs Week 2009 Opening Ceremony

When: Friday 7 August, 5:30pm to 7pm, followed by drinks and canapes
Where: Basement Theatre, The Spot, 198 Berkeley St, Melbourne Uni
What: An engaging introduction to entrepreneurship from keynote speaker Richard Hack (Founder, The Taboo Group), followed by the launch of the Innovators’ Challenge including the unveiling of this year’s mystery object.

Idea Generation Workshop

When: Friday 7 August, 7:30pm
Where: Basement Theatre, The Spot, 198 Berkeley St, Melbourne Uni
What: A hands-on group workshop to help those participating in the Innovators’ Challenge.

Entrepreneurs Week 2009 Closing Ceremony

When: Friday 14 August, 5:30pm to 7pm, followed by drinks and canapes
Where: Basement Theatre, The Spot, 198 Berkeley St, Melbourne Uni
What: A keynote speech to wrap up the week, followed by showcasing and judging the top entries of the Innovators' Challenge.
