What: Melb Uni student Philip Kingston runs Kingston Development, a website and software development firm employing university students to offer low-cost solutons. Philip has also started various web-based businesses including Flogd, a web app that allows people to easily and instantly start their own online store on a Facebook or MySpace page.

What: Mobile Monday (MoMo), the monthly networking event for entrepreneurs in mobile industries, comes to the University of Melbourne in August. In this special student edition, we will hear from two mobile entrepreneurs as per standard MoMo format, followed by some student teams pitching their mobile business ideas to the audience for $2,000 worth in prizes! Speakers:

- James Ramsay, Transient - an application that uses location features (e.g. GPS) of modern devices (e.g. iPhone) to provide improved arrival and departure information for public transport
- Shiraj de Silva & Anand Vemuri, Integrating an artificial voice box into a mobile phone - Messaging is one of the most commonly used features on a mobile phone. However, it is also the cause of many accidents. We plan to incorporate voice box technology to a mobile phone to enhance voice-to-text capability and make texting safer and easier.
- Marita Cheng, Nudge - an SMS or phone call reminder for patients taking prescription medication. Ordered and paid for through their pharmacy.
- Jaque Qian, ChoreCop Mobile - alert service and interactive tracker for households that helps to distribute the housework minus the nag. From the same team that created the existing web-based ChoreCop.
